So I’m sitting in a SharePoint Designer 2007 class at a local tech college right now….I’ve been using SharePoint where I work for the past few months, trying to build custom site themes, etc., and I’m starting to wonder why Microsoft made this process so incredibly complex.
I’ve found blog after blog talking about the ridiculous process involved in building custom SharePoint templates and skins, and after going through that process once or twice, I am beginning to understand what all the complaining is about.
Why can’t they hire some good web designers at Microsoft? I mean – seriously people, this is becoming silly. Put some good layout & interface specialists on your team. All I have to say is ‘FrontPage’. Enough said. Let’s learn from other user-interface experts, Redmond WA crew. And please, stop talking about how incredible SharePoint Designer 2007 is. We all know it’s Microsoft FrontPage, repackaged.
*Note* – I don’t hate Microsoft…I used PC’s for years before I was on a Mac…I still use PC’s. But as a front-end UI guy, I’m tired of this stuff.
